Continuing the little series of song stories I have been posting, I am pleased to be able to share a bit of the story that led to Holy Overshadowing, undoubtedly the most popular song from the EP. I was able to show my early ideas to Graham Kendrick, who was good enough to take it up and add some of his ideas to make it a co-write, and he recently posted the song story on his website – so here it is!
Co-writing proved an immensely instructive experience and I’m continuing to look to working on songs in collaboration with others – the songs are often a lot better as a result, I think! It also helps keep you humble!
