Antidote to commercialism

Are you tired of hearing the same old thing from advertisers?

Are you weary of always having them tell you what you don’t have?

Were you sold something in the last 6 months that you then thought, “I don’t want this!”

Then don’t fret! Your answer is here! It’s called the Bible! You see, I realised (probably very late in the day, like everyone else already knows this) that commercialism is continually out to tell you what you don’t have, but most definitely need. The most rubbish part is, a year later it’s ‘out of fashion’, and there’s a new and better version of what you shelled out for last year, now on the shelves! It really sucks. Like really. No in fact the worst part is that, so often you believe them, and feel you want what they are offering you.

So I thought it was time I turned my attention from being told what I don’t have (and need to shell out loads to get) to the ultimate guide, the ultimate library, the Bible, and remind myself of what I do have. Top of the list, coming straight in at number 1 is:

EVERLASTING LIFE! WOWZERS!

I then proceeded to compile a list (by no means complete) of some other things that, Scripturally are mine, and are the possession of any true believer in Christ. So I submit to you, the following, is yours:

Eternal life (John 3:16; Romans 6:23)
All things, with Jesus! (Romans 8:32; 1 Corinthians 3:21)
Father Son and Holy Spirit, the fullness of God, living in you (John 14:16,17,23; Ephesians 3:19; Colossians 2:9-10)
Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3)
The love of God from which we can’t be separated! (Romans 8:39)
God’s grace (1 Corinthians 1:4)
Liberty (Galatians 2:4)
Boldness & confident access through faith (Ephesians 3:11)
Forgiveness (Ephesians 4:32)
Righteousness through faith (Philippians 3:9)
His peace (John 14:23)
All needs supplied (Philippians 4:19; Matthew 6:33)
Faith, love and super-abundant grace (1 Timothy 1:14)
Salvation and eternal glory! (2 Timothy 2:10)

Freely you have received, so freely give! Preach the kingdom, heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons! (Matthew 10:7-8)
