This isn’t a developed thought, but in thinking about the fact that Jesus managed to pretty much rock the world with just three years’ ministry, I got thinking about what we ought to do if we wanna change the world too. I guess there’s a number of things, but one thing He did primarily, was talk about the kingdom of God, which is ‘near’ – ie. a present reality and experience available to anyone. And in talking about it (Matthew 10:7), doing the works of the kingdom (10:8) – heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. It’s a kingdom freely received, so freely give!
I don’t think we can talk about the kingdom enough. It was the central thing that Jesus talked about, so if we seriously want to be His followers, let’s make it the thing we talk about too!
