I wrote this song a couple of years ago, but it might be more relevant now than ever. As it was, for quite some time I’ve had footage lying around of me playing and singing ‘Still Small Voice’, so could have released this video at any point; but, well, now seems timely.
‘Where the air is burnt with fear, Lord of mercy, are you near? Here I wait.’ I wrote these words as part of a meditation on what Elijah might have been thinking or feeling on Mount Horeb. But I wrote it with the intention of making it applicable in our own lives for any circumstance of fear and doubt.
With the full impact of coronavirus probably still yet to be felt in the UK and around the world, these are times for turning to God with all our hearts and listening for his still small voice in the midst of the trials. I hope this song is one little encouragement to you as you seek God in worship, Scriptures and prayer. May we see the power of heaven released at this time in answer to our cries!
